Cindy

In 2019, we welcomed into our home a beautiful brindle Whippet named Cindy (Barnesmore Memphis Belle), bred by the world-renowned breeder Felicity Thompson. Her family has been involved in the world of sighthounds for over 50 years.

We were delighted that Lucinda and Felicity entrusted us with a female puppy from their latest litter.

I should mention that the journey from Ireland to Slovenia was quite a challenge—it involved a car, a plane, and a rental car, covering a distance of 4,500 km. All this was done simply to ensure the little puppy reached us with as little travel stress as possible.

Cindy quickly settled into our family and the green surroundings. Missy accepted her as her own puppy and taught her all the good things—and some of the not-so-good ones. Cindy soon demonstrated her quality: at her very first major specialty show for sighthounds, she won the most prestigious title. Best in Show. Around 80 sighthounds from across Europe took part in the exhibition.

The coronavirus put a stop to our further activities. However, we didn't just sit around; we practiced diligently. She also grew fond of a red frisbee, which became her favorite toy.
